The comment whatever on NY Mag’s website is malfunctioning again so I’m just gonna post my comment about this last episode of Glee on here instead.

Anonymous asked: if you read chris browns tweets he wrote the opposite of that "hate you all stuff" so stop being so gullible you and everyone else.

Why on earth would any decent human being follow Chris Brown on Twitter?

After I reblogged the update about his twitter, which I believe is still speculative seeing as how many tweets disappear from his feed on what appears to be a regular basis (not based on this one instance), I realized that the tweets could probably be fake. Especially after numerous fake Gaga and Adele and whoever-else tweet “screen-caps”.

Even without the tweets following The Grammy’s, his pompous and unapologetic character is laid bare in many other ways. He may have apologized and allegedly gone to rehab for his anger management, but that didn’t stop him from throwing that chair out of the window at that interview or posting those tweets telling the news networks to fuck off. What’s more, if people consider Rihanna’s Rated R album an emotional reaction to her being beaten by Chris Brown, what does Brown’s own post-scandal album say about his mental state regarding it all? I mean, he named the album F.A.M.E. which contains songs about how rich and famous and loved and sexy he is.

He may have publicly apologized once, but just saying you’re sorry in no way means you have actually been touched by remorse over your actions.

When actually decent looking, skinny, single gay boys post desperate quotes to their Facebooks about how true love doesn’t care about appearances (suggesting that they believe themselves to be considered undesirable) and whine about how unattractive and alone they are but constantly write off other perfectly decent looking guys for being “fat” and “ugly” because they aren’t attracted to their appearance.

Question:Chris Brown, Rihanna?

Everybody who’s bashing Chris Brown, asking how can girls still support him.

How do you feel about her saying she forgives him? Or that she supports and listen to his music? Or Better yet that their they’re friends?

I’m just a bit curious.

It wouldn’t be the first time an artist is forced my their management and PR team to make statements that are essentially lies for the sake of sweeping a scandal under the rug.

There are numerous instances of the business side of the music industry making concessions to try to turn Chris Brown back into a reliable, money-making act again. Pressuring Rihanna to make statements that would help rehabilitate Chris’ image, especially after how shaken and scared of him she probably was after the incident, would have been the easiest and most obvious route to begin the damage control on his career.

Also, how many girls do you know that have come out of abusive/destructive/unhealthy relationships and still, years later, are still having trouble detaching themselves completely from that boy they used to be so in love with? Personally, I’ve known quite a few. It’s not uncommon for her to still care for Chris, but just because she cares for him doesn’t mean that the public should condone his actions or throw him a bone for taking a ‘time-out’.

Ah, thank you for the correction….so on…

I doubt that anyone has pressured her to make those statements. Especially since you admits she does care for him. She made those statements (this was just last year) on her own, she’s a big girl and I’m sure within the last year she’s made it very clear she can make her own decisions. Yes, I’ve seen these unhealthy relationships; how many girls I know can completely detach themselves from their boyfriend? Very few. In no way shape or form am I and I think the vast majority of his fans condone his behavior. (Though I might add those girls who were say Chris could beat them anytime, either it’s suppose to be read in a sarcasm tone or they need some serious help.)

And about throwing him a bone for taking a “time-out”, no one has and he surely hasn’t had a time out. He did release an album that year, if I’m not mistaken it released before hers. And not to use “he was young” as an excuse because he is old enough to know right from wrong. He does time and room for growth and hopefully it never happens again. I just don’t get why he’s seem to be the target of all chaos when he isn’t the only celeb to abuse a significant other.

Just to add he was rewarded on his work ethic, and music. Not for how he behaves in his personal life. It wasn’t like he got Humanitarian of the year. If we solely based every opinion on how a celeb acts in their personal life, then theirs a lot of them that shouldn’t have their careers.

Anyway, I very much appreciate your input.

  • Big girl or not, Rihanna is still a music artist under contract and thereby under the pressure of the will of her managers and the wills of the record labels.
  • The Grammy’s acknowleged they gave him a ‘time out’ by exiling Chris Brown from The Grammy’s for two years. The Grammy’s also had the gall to call themselves the victim of Chris Brown’s actions.
  • He might not be the only celebrity to physically abuse his significant other, but did people make excuses for Ike when Tina was beaten? Did they attempt to push him back out into the spotlight and dismiss his actions? Has that EVER happened with a male artist who was known to be violent to his lover?
  • Everyone. EVERYONE knows that Chris Brown’s album only did well because of the scandal, and that’s sad. Sad that people were actively trying to ignore the fact that he obviously has anger issues and is comfortable with resolving his issues through violence and intimidation.
  • The mere fact that The Grammy’s invited him back and gave him the award (along with marketing the whole thing as a ‘comeback’) shows that the music industry doesn’t care about violence against women. It sends a negative message about women to the world and results in girls thinking it’s okay or even cool to be beaten by a guy (hence the twitter posts).

So I took my brother to go see the 3D release of Star Wars: Episode 1 “The Phantom Menace”

I never really understood all the hate for Jar Jar Binks’ existence in Star Wars: Episode 1, but that was partially because I hadn’t seen the movie in quite awhile.

Now, I kind of get it.

Story-wise he serves no real purpose. He could easily be written out of the script. Really, the entire sequence of the Jedi’s first interaction with the Gungans didn’t really need to happen. With a quick introduction to the ‘hidden underwater-city-dwellers’ before they form their little alliance would have been sufficient. With all the time saved by cutting out that whole underwater sequence the pace of the whole movie could have been slowed down a bit more and further attention could have been paid to explaining things the audience is supposed to just let slide. Like Darth Maul for example. His character is nothing more than an antagonistic question mark with a light-saber. More story behind the whole Sith vs. Jedi origin would have been nice.

But whatever.

Graphics-wise the 3D treatment makes all of the digital elements of the film stand out horribly. The color and a great deal of the vibrance of the movie is also lost when viewed through the tinted 3D glasses. The green-screen work is entirely exposed. My brother, who for about a year or so religiously watched the Star Wars movies just about every day (a habit he is now re-visiting with the Rocky series, much to my dismay), pointed out that the digital team must have gone back into the movie and re-animated Yoda. I didn’t notice it because it’s been about half a decade since I saw the movie last, but my brother took out his Star Wars encyclopedia and showed me the differences in the character design from Episode 1 through 3 (the digital rendering of the character that was the most technically advanced). So yeah, new Yoda, I guess.

Personally I got a kick out of trying to distinguish Keira Knightly from Natalie Portman when they were switching in and out of their disguises (The give-away is their voices really. Keira didn’t completely cover up her accent. Although, tou almost can’t tell the difference because Natalie uses a tone that almost sounds like a British accent). And what disguises they were! Princess Amidala’s wardrobe is capital “F” FIERCE. I guess I never noticed, or was able to actually appreciate, the detail and beauty of her wardrobe.

Well, overall I’d say I was adequately entertained for two hours, but the 3D wasn’t anything super special.

I’m not even kidding.

If I vote in this election I’m voting for Roseanne Barr.

All of the people making these ‘Pop Royalty’ images/gifs/photo-collages/whatevers are probably all Britney Spears fans because I honestly don’t see how someone could place her next to Michael Jackson and Madonna and not mean it as some kind of a joke.

Sorry, Daniel Radecliffe fans, but The Woman in Black sucked.
  • The movie doesn’t get anywhere remotely scary until practically half-way through
  • Daniel Radecliffe may be old enough to be the father of a three-year-old, but he has no clue how to convincingly play a father. He regards his ‘son’ more like a little brother or cousin than his only child.
  • No explanation is given for ANYTHING happening in this film
  • Quite literally, ‘The Woman In Black’ kills kids only because someone ‘sees’ her. There’s no reason why she hates being seen or why that makes her kill children, but she does.
  • There’s no significance to the fact that ‘The Woman’ is wearing ‘Black’. The townspeople don’t even refer to her as such.
  • I don’t know how good a marsh is at preserving a body, but if a corpse has been rotting there for over 20 years I imagine there’s no way on Earth it would still have most of its skin.
  • All of the big scares in this film are literally ‘BOO!’
  • SUPER SPOILER AFTER THE JUMP:

Why do people hate Lana Del Rey?

Do people even really hate Lana Del Rey?

Do people hate Lana Del Rey because they heard other people hate her?

Do people hate Lana Del Rey because people like Lana Del Rey in spite of other people hating her?

Do people hate Lana Del Rey because nobody really hates Lana Del Rey but a rumor was started that people hate Lana Del Rey to make people like her in response to people not liking her?

Do people hate Lana Del Rey because she’s becoming popular despite people hating Lana Del Rey because they heard other people hate her based on other people hating or liking her based on a rumor that may or may not have actual roots in people legitimately hating her for a real reason?
